Idaho Legal Aid Services, Inc. helps seniors and low-income people (60 years and older) in Idaho solve civil law problems. Our offices cannot assist in criminal cases. In order to determine if you qualify for assistance, our office needs to collect information about the specific legal issue you are asking for help with, as well as the income and assets of everyone living in your home. Before we can help you, we need to find out if you are eligible for our office`s services. Due to limited resources, our staff is not able to assist you with all legal issues. Our services address issues that affect basic needs, such as housing, income, medical care and family safety. You can also apply in person by visiting your local legal aid office in Idaho between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. There will be no personal check-in after 4:30 p.m. If you are allowed to speak to a lawyer, they will ask you questions about your legal problem. Please have all papers or documents regarding your problem handy when we contact you.

It will also be useful if you have important information such as the names of the people involved in the problem and their addresses and phone numbers. These assistance services provide free legal assistance to eligible applicants to help Iowan residents maintain their homes and avoid immediate homelessness. Once our office has reviewed your online application, a client onboarding specialist will contact you. Then, our office can provide you with information about your legal problem in the form of a brochure, provide you with legal advice over the phone, make an appointment with you or refer you to another organization for help. Language interpreters are available for limited or non-English speakers who apply by phone. Our lawyers must also avoid conflicts of interest arising from discussions with both parties in a dispute. We ask you for information about the person, company or agency you have a problem with to find out if there are any potential conflicts of interest. If you ask for help on behalf of someone else, we will decide if we can talk to you about the legal issue or if we need to speak directly to the person on whose behalf you are calling. This ensures that we avoid conflicts and receive sufficient information about the client and the legal issue. If you are being abused and have questions about a legal issue, call our domestic violence counselling line. If you think you are in danger right now, call 911 immediately. The most common income guidelines used by legal aid agencies are 125% to 200% of the federal poverty line.

Amounts are rounded to the nearest dollar. “Family size” refers to the total number of persons in the household. IN Free Legal Answers is a website where you can ask a question about your non-criminal problem and have it answered for free by a lawyer. To qualify, you do not need to be able to afford a lawyer. This service only provides answers to legal questions, the lawyer who answers your question will not represent you in the whole case or go to court for you. Community legal aid has a complaints procedure if you are not satisfied with the service provided. Please call the Legal Aid Helpline at (800) 998-9454 for more information. Hours of application by phone: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday – 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Tuesday – 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Our online app is an easy-to-understand, interactive interview that walks you through the registration steps. Legal Aid by WV offers free services to our clients. We will never require payment for our services, although there may be costs to file documents in court. When you complete the online application, you will be immediately informed of the status of your application. In some cases, we will inform you immediately that Community Legal Aid cannot help you.

In most cases, we will inform you that a representative will review the information you provide and contact you within a few days. We may contact you by phone, email or mail. You must provide a valid phone number where you can be reached. Be sure to carefully review these other requirements before contacting an organization. This app works by asking you questions and then securely sending your answers to Idaho Legal Aid Services, Inc. We do not provide support in criminal cases, juvenile delinquents or traffic cases. Community legal aid cannot guarantee that your case will be upheld. The information you provide through the online application will be used to determine whether we can accept your case. Some organizations may make exceptions for seniors, HIV-positive people or victims of family violence. Some organizations also factor in expenses such as childcare, medical bills, and debts. We also have an advice line in housing law and elderly/elderly people. Community Legal Aid will keep confidential all information you provide through this online application. We cannot guarantee that the computer you are using is secure.
