The new requirement to obtain a director number applies to all directors of trustees of companies in an FSMS. This obligation also applies to all directors who, after 31 years. In October 2021, they resigned from all their directorships and have no intention of being appointed as directors of any Australian or foreign company. How long do I have before I need my Director ID? Persons who were directors of a corporation before November 1, 2021 have until November 30, 2022 to obtain a director number. This transitional period also applies to newly appointed directors of the trustees of an SMSF if they were existing directors of a corporation before November 1, 2021.
