You can help as long as you follow the guidelines for low-income people and have a legal problem with the service policies. The Legal Aid Society of Hawai`i is a nonprofit public interest law firm whose mission is to achieve fairness and justice through legal advocacy, outreach, and education for those in need. Legal Aid continues to provide comprehensive representation to those in need and has improved access to justice by also training clients to manage their own legal affairs. The Domestic Violence Action Centre provides victims of domestic violence with legal information, judicial support, advocacy and safety planning support. DVAC provided legal information and representation to victims. With lawyers and lawyers on staff, DVAC aims to support and accompany victims in their quest for safety and freedom. Services include assistance with VAWA self-applications, abused spouse waivers, T and U nonimmigrant visas, as well as renewing documentation and replacing green cards and naturalization certificates. The Hawaii Immigrant Justice Center is a branch of the Legal Aid Society that provides free legal services to eligible immigrants living in the state of Hawaii. HIJC also conducts outreach and education activities, organizes free legal clinics, and provides training on various immigration and related civil rights issues. * Services are generally free for those who are eligible for LASH services. For those who earn too much money or have too many assets to receive free legal services, The Affordable Lawyers project offers limited legal services at a fixed discounted rate. K9 Kokua provides emergency care to victims of domestic violence and other families in crisis. – Telephone interpretation services for reception and interviews with clients. The Family Court Injunction Hotline (Oahu First Circuit) can provide information about ORTs and the process for obtaining protection orders. You can contact this organization by phone from Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 11:30 and from 13:00 to 15:30. The Humane Society of Hawaii`s Pals program provides temporary support to families in crisis. Kapi`olani Medical Center for Women & Children`s Sexual Abuse Treatment Center (SATC) is a national program that provides comprehensive services to survivors of sexual assault.
