OADM graduates work as legal administrative assistants, legal assistants, legal receptionists, legal secretaries, legal administration clerks, funders, corporate secretaries, process assistants and other legal aid organizations. The certificate in this specialty is designed to provide students with the fundamental skills and knowledge required to join the legal support staff of a junior level law firm. Students receive a strong procedural education in various areas such as transfer of ownership, litigation, family law, corporate law, wills and estates. In addition, students receive training in administrative and interpersonal skills, as well as computer and software manipulation, including word processing and email applications. “Completing the legal specialization sharpened my communication and organizational skills. The course was challenging and offered in-depth training in key areas of legal work. This program has given me not only the certification that employers are looking for, but also experience and a solid understanding of different jurisdictions.
